snow melt trickles down
the roof’s edge like memories
come to life piecemeal
awakening crocus buds
reviving my dormant hope

 

 

your slender fingers
bunch a bouquet of dahlias
soft yellow cushions
a peace offering for me
we crush them in our embrace
