Kissing was disgusting. The first time. But she learned to enjoy it. The trick was not to think about it too much. If she closed her eyes and gave her tongue permission to go wild, it was a pleasant experience. No one was really surprised when she kissed the frog.

of the pond
in his absence—
first sip of whiskey
